Saturday, September 20, 2008 (click here for details)
Thanks for visiting JJLMF.com, a website created to educate teens and others about depression and other mental illnesses. This website is part of the Joseph J. Laurencelle Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization started in 1996 following the death of Joe Laurencelle, who suffered from bipolar disorder, one of the most serious forms of depression. Like many others who suffer, Joe first showed signs of the illness when he was in high school. Tragically, he took his own life when he was 26. Through this website, and the programs and special projects created by JJLMF, we can begin to erase the stigma of mental illness and save lives.
>
Our television special, “No Ordinary Joe: Erasing the Stigma of Mental Illness,” aired nationally in May. Learn more.
>
Since 1996, JJLMF has reached more than 25,000 people with our free educational programs.
>
Are you or someone you know depressed? Do you want to talk to someone who understands?
>
It’s getting easier for those who need help to get it.
